Example 5: Use the lattice multiplication method to 2 3 6
              find 236 × 24. 0 0 1 2

              Solution: Since we have to multiply a 3-digit number by 0 4 6 2
                             a 2-digit number, we draw a lattice of 3 × 2. 0 8 1 2 2 4 4
Proceed as discussed in the previous example. 1 =5 6 4
                             The product is 5664. 0+4+0+ 1 2+2+2=6

                            Thus, 236 × 24 = 5664. 8+1+6+1=

              Example 6: Find 2346 × 37 using lattice multiplication. 2 3 4 6

              Solution: Here, we have to multiply a 4-digit 0 0 1 1 3
                             number by a 2-digit number, so, we 0 6 9 2 8
                             draw a 4 × 2 lattice multiplication, and 1 4 2 2 4 7
                             do the process. The product is 86802. 1 =8 6 = 8 1 0 8 2

                                                                                1+6+0+ 4+2+9+1= 1+2+2+1+ 8+4+8=
                            Thus, 2346 × 37 = 86802. 1 2 2 2

Teacher’s Explain to the students, that in lattice multiplication if after the product of two single digits, we have no tens
Tip digit then we put a '0' in the upper triangle of the lattice for that particular product.
