              Checking:  Quotient × Divisor + Remainder = 11888 × 7 + 2 = 83218 = Dividend

                            Hence, the answer is correct.
              short Division method

              After gaining fluency in addition, subtraction and multiplication, we use these mentally
              in the short division method. Let us divide 4276 by 5.

                  Step 1:  Since 4 < 5, divide 42 by 5.                                                5 42 7 6
                                                                                                             2 2
                            Q = 8 and R = 2                                                                8  5  5 R 1

                            Write 8 below 42 and 2 just above and before 7.
                  Step 2:  Regroup remainder 2 with 7 as 27, and divide 27 by 5.

                            Q = 5 and R = 2

                            Write 5 below 7 and 2 just above and before 6.

                  Step 3:  Regroup remainder 2 with 6 as 26, and divide 26 by 5.

                            Q = 5 and R = 1
                                                                                                Be Aware
                            Write 5 below 6 and 1 as the final remainder. The short division method
                                                                                         will  help  you  later  while
                            Thus, final Q = 855 and R = 1.                               doing prime factorisation.

                      Fast Check
                     Divide by using the short division method:

                         1.  6 3726                        2.  8 5056                   3.  9 88204

              Division when there are Zeros in the Dividend

              Zeros in the dividend should be treated just like other digits. Bring down the zero in
              division steps as we “bring down” any other digit.

              Example 4: Divide 90090 by 9.

              Solution: Step 1: Divide the ten thousands digit 9 by 9.

                                        We have quotient (Q) = 1 ten thousand and remainder (R) = 0

                             Step 2: Bring down the thousands digit 0.

                                         Since 0 < 9, put a ‘0’ in the quotient  Divisor      9 90090    10010      Q
                                       in the thousands place.                                  9
                                                                                                0009
                             Step 3: Bring down the hundreds digit 0. 9 Remainder

                                         Since it is also ‘0’, put a ‘0’ in the 00
                                       quotient in the hundreds place.
