              anGle

Two rays having a common end point form an angle. B
The two rays that form an angle are called the arms of the angle.
The common end point is called the vertex of the angle.

The symbol of an angle is ∠. Vertex Arms

In the adjoining figure, the rays OA and OB form an angle at
              point O. O A
Here, OA and OB are the arms and O is the vertex of this angle.
              naming an angle

Š An angle can be named in different ways. We can name an angle by using three letters
of the English alphabet. For example, angle ∠AOB, ∠PQR, ∠XYZ, etc.
When three letters are used to show an angle, the letter showing the vertex is always

                  written in the middle.

                                                                     A

                                                          B ∠ABC C

We can also name an angle by the vertex only. For example, ∠A, ∠B, ∠D, etc.

                                                          A ∠A

Angles can also be named by assigning a numeral
to the angle. For example, ∠1, ∠2, ∠3, etc. Think Tank Logical Thinking
