objective: To practice the unitary method and compare prices to make smart consumer
               choices.

Materials required: A list of grocery items printed out as per the number of groups,
along with their quantities and prices. It should have the same item from two brands.

               Procedure:
Š Group students and provide a copy of the grocery list to each group.

Š For each item on the list, students must use the unitary method to calculate the “unit
price” (e.g., cost per litre, cost per kg, cost per 100g).

Š Based on the unit price, students must decide which brand is the “better deal” and
                   circle it on their worksheet.

Š Students will then calculate the total cost of the items they bought by adding up the
prices of all the “better deal” items they chose.

               observation:

Š Students will fill out a table comparing the unit prices of different brands.
Š Students will calculate a final bill for their purchased items.
