Objective: To collect and represent class data physically as a human bar graph.
               Materials: Classboard, chalk or marker.

               Procedure:

Š Ask a simple question with 3-4 possible answers, such as, “What is your favourite
                      season: Summer, Winter, or Monsoon?”

Š Have students form lines based on their choice. All the “Summer” students form
one line, “Winter” another, and so on.

Š The lines of students standing side-by-side create a human bar graph.
Š Represent the bar graph on the board as follows:

                                                       Favourite Seasons of Students
                                                   Y
                                                       Scale: 1 square unit = 5 students
                                                   30
                                                   25
                                                 Number of students 15
                                                   20

                                                   10

                                                    5
                                                    0 X
                                                           Summer Winter Monsoon

                                                            Seasons

Š Ask questions like “Which bar is the longest?”, “What does that tell us?” or “How
many more students chose Winter than Monsoon?”
