Learning by Doing

Objective: To make toran using colourful papers.

Materials Required:

A number of rectangular strips of paper in different colours, a glue or a stapler

Procedure:

Š Divide the class in groups of 2-3 students.

Š Each group will take the required materials.

Š One member will first take a strip and fold it to make a ring. Then join its two
ends with glue or stapler as shown here.

Š Next the second member will take another strip and insert its one end in the
first ring. Then turn it into another ring.

Š Similarly, the third, fourth, fifth, …, rings can be added and the pattern will

continue.

Š After getting ready the paper chains, the teacher can collect from all groups

and make a toran for using a tread. Then decorate the door and windows of
the classroom.
