Solution: Arrange the given measures in the two columns of ‘kg’ and ‘g’ correctly. Now,
add as ordinary numbers.
Step 1: Add grams. kg g

780 g + 85 g + 8 g = 873 g 1 1 1

Write 873 under the g column. 3 5 7 8 0
Step 2: Add kilograms. 6 4 0 8 5

35 kg + 64 kg + 9 kg = 108 kg + 9 0 0 8

Write 108 under the kg column. 1 0 8 8 7 3
Thus, 35 kg 780 g + 64 kg 85 g + 9 kg 8 g = 108 kg 873 g
