WRiting dates

When we write a date for a particular day in a year, we specify the number of the day in
a month (that is, date), the name of the month and then the year.

examples: (a) 3rd February, 2016 or February 3, 2016

(b) 10th March, 2017 or March 10, 2017

(c) 31st July, 2018 or July 31, 2018

In short, we write a date as a group of three numbers separated by two dots (.) or slashes
(/). The first number stands for the day, the second number for the month and the third
number is the year.

example: 15th August, 1947 shall be written in the short form as:

15 . 08 . 1947 15 / 08 / 1947
