              Example 1:  Find  the area of the  following  figures drawn  on the  squared  paper  by
              counting squares. Consider each small square as 1 cm square.

              Solution:      (a) Number of unit squares in the figure = 15

                                  Therefore, area of the figure = 15 sq. cm
