                Š  Integers are the set of numbers {...., –4, –3,   Addition of Integers:
                 –2, –1, 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, ....} that consists of the   Example:    (a)  (+26) + (–45)  = – (45 – 26)  = –19
                 counting numbers, {1, 2, 3, 4, 5, ....}.               (b)  (– 11) + (– 12) = – (11 + 12)  = – 23

                    The negative of the counting numbers, {...., –5,   Subtraction of Integers:
                  –4, –3, –2, –1} and zero.                 Example:  (a)  –9 from 6 = 6 – (–9) = 6 + 9 = 15
