              CONVERTING PERCENTAGE INTO FRACTIONS

It is converse of converting fractions into percentage.
To convert a percentage into a fraction, we remove % symbol and divide by 100.

Example: Convert the following percentages into fractions.
                                                                                                  3
                    (a) 9% (b) 15% (c) 35% (d) %
                                                                                                  5

              Solution: (a) 9% = 9 (b) 15% = 15 = 3
                                       100 100 20 Get it right!

                                                             3
                            (c) 35% = 35 = 7 (d) % = 3 = 3 35% = 35 × 100

              CONVERTING PERCENTAGE INTO DECIMALS

To convert percentage into decimal, remove % symbol and divide by 100 and convert the
              fraction thus obtained into decimals.

Example: Convert the following percentages into decimals.
                                                                                                           2

Teacher’s Explain to students that any fraction with the denominator 100 can be converted into percentage, by removing
Tip the denominator and writing a percentage sign after the numerator.
