Learning by Doing
Objective: To reinforce the concept of expanded form in terms of ‘tens’
and ‘ones’.
Materials Required: Foam cups, sketch pens
Procedure:
Take at least 3 foam cups.
On the first cup, write 0 to 9 for ones as
shown in the illustration.
On the second cup, write 10 +, 20 +, 30 +,
…, + 90 + as shown alongside for the tens.
The teacher will call a random number from
11 to 99. Students can make any number
from 11 to 99 by turning the cups to line up
the numbers.
