REPEATED ADDITION (EquAl GROuPs)
Look at the following.
(a) How many groups are there? 4
(b) How many birds are there in each group? 3
Total number of birds = 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 = 12
When we add the same number again and again, it is called repeated addition.
Let us count how many objects are there.
(a)
2 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 8
4 groups of 2 or 4 twos = 8
(b)
3 + 3 + 3 = 9
3 groups of 3 or 3 threes = 9
