Zero (0) is a number representing an empty quantity. Let us understand zero using

daily life example.

After the last butterfly, flew away, how many butterflies are left on the flower?

Clearly, none. We write, none as 0. 0 is read as Zero.

of something.

Raina and Rakshit are friends.

Raina has 9 candies and Rakshit has 10. it is 1 more than number 9. 9 and 1 more

make 10. 10 is read as ten.

We use only one
place to write
numbers 1 to 9.
