Take a ball and a marker. Write few numbers from 0 to 20 on the

ball. Some children will stand in a circle and pass the ball
around the circle. At an instance, the teacher can say STOP

and call out the number that lands nearest the right thumb

of the child who catches the ball.

The teacher can ask questions like:

• Double the number.

• Tell 2 less than the number.

• Subtract 5 from the number.

• Which number is 7 more than the
number?

• Find the number needed to make-up to
the next ten.
