Objective: Understanding the numbers up to 50.
Materials Required: Matchsticks and rubber bands
Procedure:
The teacher divides the class into 4 groups.
Distribute 20 matchsticks and 2 rubber bands to each group.
Ask each group to make 2 bundles of 10 matchsticks.
Collect the bundles from the groups.
Call one group. Give them the bundles of tens and some loose matchsticks.
Ask them to make two numbers say, 26 and 27.
Check how they work.
You can also ask them to compare the two numbers.
Repeat the activity with other groups with different numbers.
