              Objective: Understanding the numbers up to 50.
              Materials Required: Matchsticks and rubber bands

              Procedure:

                     Š The teacher divides the class into 4 groups.
                     Š Distribute 20 matchsticks and 2 rubber bands to each group.

                     Š Ask each group to make 2 bundles of 10 matchsticks.

                     Š Collect the bundles from the groups.

                     Š Call one group. Give them the bundles of tens and some loose matchsticks.
                     Š Ask them to make two numbers say, 26 and 27.

                     Š Check how they work.

                     Š You can also ask them to compare the two numbers.

                     Š Repeat the activity with other groups with different numbers.
