example: There are 46 cows in a cowshed. Each cow has 4
legs. How many legs are there in all?

              Solution: H t O

                                                                          1 2
Number of cows in the cowshed = 4 6
                           Number of legs a cow has = × 4

                           Number of legs in all = 1 8 4
Thus, there are 184 legs in all.
