Or 9 ÷ 2 = 4 R 1 – 8 4 × 2 = 8

Or 9 = 4 × 2 + 1

Division of a number by itself

Put 3 bindis on 3 strips. Put 5 bindis on 5 strips.

3 ÷ 3 = 1 5 ÷ 5 = 1

Any number except 0 when divided by itself gives the quotient as 1.
