              DIVISION STORIES


              example: Suman had a collection of 28 shells. He wanted to share them equally

              among his 7 friends. How many shells would each get?

              Solution: Total shells = 28

                           Think! How many 7s in 28?

                           There are 4, 7s in 28 because 7 ×   4   = 28. (Using 7 times table)

                           So, 28 ÷ 7 = 4. Thus, each friend will get 4 shells.

                           Using long division:

                           Total shells = 28

                           To share 28 shells equally among 7 friends,

                           we divide 28 by 7.

                           Thus, each friend will get 4 shells.

                 20  parrots  were resting  on two trees.  4  parrots  flew  from 1st  tree to the
