              drawing a Straight Line

              A straight line can be drawn by moving a pencil along the edge of a

              scale (ruler).

              •  Take a ruler and a pencil from your geometry box.

              •  Place the ruler on a page of your notebook.

              •  Move the pencil along the edge of the
                   ruler.

              •  You will get a straight line.
              Now, you can draw a curved line using a pencil freehand.

              1.  Try to make some designs using straight and curved lines on a dotted paper.

                   Look at the figures drawn here as an example.


















              2.  Count the number of horizontal, vertical and slanting lines in the given figure.
                   Next draw figure from your imagination and ask your bench partner to count

                   the different types of lines.
