                                   Learning by Doing

Objective: To reinforce the concept of representing data in tables and

              interpret it.
Materials Required: Beads of different colours, for example, red, blue,

green and yellow, a sheet of paper and a pencil.
              Procedure:

Š Divide the class in pairs.

Š Each pair gets beads of different colours.
Š The pair counts the number of beads of each colour.

Š One member of the pair records the result and makes the list as given below.

S.No. Colour of beads Number of beads
                          1. Red

                          2. Green
                          3. Blue

                          4. Yellow
Š Other member of the pair checks the list. For this, the first member calls out
the number of coloured beads and other member ticks (3) it in the list.

Š Now ask some questions based on it.

                     (a) How many red beads are there? ___________
                     (b) How many more/less blue beads than yellow beads

                          are there? ___________
                      (c) What is the total number of beads? ___________

read the given clues and list. think and tick (3) the answer.
Peter has 15 crayons. Tony has twice as many crayons as Peter has. Kabir has 10
crayons less than Tony. Nasir has 5 crayons more than Kabir.

                  1. How many crayons does Tony have? 17 30 40
