How many beads are used in a necklace?
To know the total number of beads, let us find the sum of 24 and 8.
First arrange the numbers one below the other according to their
place value.
Step 1. Add the ones and regroup. Step 2. Add the tens.
4 + 8 = 12 ones = 1 ten 2 ones 1 + 2 = 3 tens
