example 1: What should be added to 5 to get 13?
              Solution: We have 5 + _____ = 13

We can figure out the missing number by thinking about a subtraction
                              fact in the same family.

                              Think 13 – _____ = 5

                              We know that 13 – 5 = 8, we also know that 5 + 8 = 13.
So, 8 should be added to 5 to get 13.

example 2: What should be subtracted from 16 to get 9?

              Solution: We have 16 – _____ = 9
                              Since, 16 – 9 = 7, so 16 – 7 = 9.

So, 7 should be subtracted from 16 to get 9.
