We observe that the shape viewed in the mirror (image) is the same as the shape on the
left side (object) and the two together form the complete shape we have taken before.
Thus, the object and image are symmetrical about the mirror line.
example: Which of the following figures are symmetrical. Also, draw the line of symmetry.

Solution: Figures (d), (e), (g) and (h) are symmetrical about the dotted line (line of
symmetry) because they are exactly the same on both sides of the dotted line.
Figures (a), (b), (c) and (f) are asymmetrical figures because we cannot draw
any line that divides the figures into two halves matching exactly.
