              Making equal Weights

                        Two 500 g-weights weigh 1 kg. Five 100 g-weights weigh 500 g.
                           2 × 500 g = 1000 g = 1 kg 5 × 100 g = 500 g

                Two 200 g and one 100 g weights weigh 500 g. Five 200 g-weights weigh 1 kg.
                           2 × 200 g + 100 g = 500 g 5 × 200 g = 1000 g = 1 kg

              1. Convert the following into grams.

                   (a) 7 kg (b) 9 kg (c) 14 kg 200 g (d) 59 kg 350 g

              2. Convert the following as directed:

                   (a) 3000 g into kg (b) 6000 g into kg

                   (c) 3124 g into kg and g. (d) 4128 g into kg and g.
              3. Circle the weights that make 1 kg of the given things.

                    (a) 1 kg

                    (b) 1 kg
