                                   Learning by Doing

              objective: To understand and compare the weight and heights of children.

              Materials Required: Weighing machine, a sheet of paper, geometry box

              Procedure:

                     Š The teacher divides the class into groups of five.
                     Š She calls a group at a time to perform the activity.
                     Š She asks the members of the groups to find the weight of each other in kg and g
                      using the weighing machine.

                     Š Children make a record of their weight on a sheet of paper.

                                                                     Weight                        Height

                     Š The teacher asks the students to find out the heaviest and the lightest children of
                      the group.
                     Š Also, find the tallest children among them.

                     Š Children also find out how many of them are less than 30 kg.
                     Š The same process is repeated with children of the other groups.
                     Š Now, the teacher announces the heaviest child and the tallest child of the class.
