Learning by Doing
Objective: To record and represent the data using tally marks.
Materials required: Pencil and a paper.
Procedure:
Divide the class into pairs.
Each pair will ask all the other children in their class about the means of transport
they use to come to school. (Teacher can tell different groups to ask about their
favourite fruits, vegetables, colours, cartoon characters, etc. for variation in activity.)
Record this information using tally marks.

Next, each pair will represent the collected information using a pictograph.
Each pair will also find the answer to the following questions using a pictograph
drawn by them.
1. Which is the most popular means of transport used by the children of their class?
