Example 2: There were 5009 bags of rice in a godown. If 3639 bags are taken out, how
many bags will remain in the godown?

Number of bags taken out = – 3 6 3 9
Number of remaining bags = 1 3 7 0
Thus, 1370 rice bags has left in the godown.
Example 3: The sum of two numbers is 8197. If one of the numbers is 3994, find the
other number.

One number = – 3 9 9 4
Other number = 4 2 0 3
Thus, the other number is 4203.
