objective: To reinforce the concept of subtracting 4-digit numbers.

Materials Required: Arrow cards, sheets of paper, pencils, sketch pens
              Procedures:

Š Divide the class into pairs and distribute them 8 arrow cards in which a digit is

                      written on each card.
                             0 5 8 3 6 7 4 9

Š Then, ask the pair to form two different 4-digit numbers with the given arrow cards.
Write the numbers formed on the paper sheet and then find their difference.

Š The pair of students will repeat the activity until time permits.

Š Also, ask them to form the greatest and the smallest numbers using the given arrow
                      cards and find their difference.
