decimal Place valUe and exPanded form
We know that the decimal part of a decimal number is separated from the whole
part by a decimal point. Decimal part follow a place value pattern just as the whole
part of the number. But the decimal place value works from left to right, in just the
reverse manner of the whole number part.
1
The place value of first right of the units place is tenths 10 = 0.1 and the place
value of the hundredths place is 1 = 0.01 .
