                            Lakhs thousands Ones

Lakhs ten thousands thousands Hundreds tens Ones
                              (L) (tth) (th) (H) (t) (O)

                    (a) 1 4 3 7 8 2
                    (b) 3 8 7 5 3 8

                    (c) 5 1 6 3 0 1
                    (d) 7 8 9 4 7 6

Thus, we can write and read these numbers as:
                    (a) 1,43,782 – One lakh forty-three thousand seven hundred eighty-two

                    (b) 3,87,538 – Three lakh eighty-seven thousand five hundred thirty-eight
