Objective: To understand the relationship between fractions and
decimals.
Materials required: Colour pencils and some square papers with a
grid of 100 units squares.
Procedure:
Divide the class into pairs of two.
Give a square grid paper to each pair and instruct them to colour the small
squares in the square grid as you want. You can also try to make any design
or pattern.
Count the number of coloured squares in the grid.
Represent the number of coloured squares to that of total number of squares
with a fraction.
Write the decimal number equivalent to the fraction as well.
