              Some figures or objects have more than one line of symmetry. These lines of symmetry
              can be vertical, horizontal or diagonal.

                                                                                           A circle have
                                                                                           infinite diameter
                                                                                           and so it has
                                                                                           infinite line of
                                                                                           symmetry.

                    Š Take a sheet of paper and fold it in half twice.

                    Š Cut out any shapes on the corners with a pair of scissors and unfold the paper.

                    Š The figure so obtained will look identical if folded along any of the dotted lines.

                    Š The design so formed by cutting is symmetrical because when folded on any of
                    the dotted line, both the halves overlap each other.

                    Š The square design shown above has 2 lines of symmetry.


              Some letters of the English alphabet also show symmetry.
