                                   Learning by Doing




              Objective: To understand the concept of turn through a paper windmill.

              Materials required:  A  square  piece of  paper, thumb  pin,  a stick of  15 cm  in
                                      length and a pair of scissors.
              Procedure:
                  Š Take square piece of paper and fold it diagonally along both diagonals.

                  Š Make creases along both diagonals.
                  Š Open it and draw a small circle at the point of intersection of diagonals.

                  Š Cut from one corner along the diagonal fold stopping before the circle.
                  Š Repeat along the other diagonal folds.

                  Š Fold four alternate corner sections down to the centre
                  of the paper, holding each section under your thumb at
                  the centre as you work.

                  Š Place a sticker centrally on the windmill so that it holds
                  the four blades in position.
                  Š Take a thumb pin and push it through the centre of the sticker and out the
                  back of the windmill.
                  Š Fix it on a stick firmly so that it allows the windmill to turn.

                  Š Now, rotate the windmill   turn and   turn to observe its shapes.
