fahrenheit scale
The Fahrenheit scale was discovered by the German scientist, Gabreil Fahrenheit. The scale
is divided into 180 equal divisions of 1°F each in fahrenheit scale; water freezes at 32°F
and boils at 212°F. Thus, the thermometer has readings from 32° Fahrenheit (or 32°F) to
212° Fahrenheit (or 212°F).

Clinical thermometer: The thermometer which is used for measuring body temperature
is known as clinical thermometer. This thermometer has readings from 35°C to 42°C. The
normal body temperature of a human body on the celsius scale is 37°C.

These days a digital thermometer has become a popular choice than a mercury thermometer.
It has a heat sensor that can identify the temperature and display it on screen and it is
safer as it doesn't contain any harmful chemicals.
Both thermometers are filled with mercury. The level to which mercury rises shows the
temperature of the object.
