Learning by Doing
Objective: To reinforce the concept of conversion of units of time.
Materials required: Stopwatch and notebook
Procedure:
Instruct the students to form pairs.
One student from each pair will perform an activity while the other
student will note down the time spent in doing the activity.
It is preferable that the activities are performed in the open/field.
The activities may be: to hop on one leg 12 times, hold any yoga
asana pose like Natrajasana, Trikonasana, Vrikshasana, etc. without
losing balance, skip 20 times, perform 10 push-ups/squats etc.
Both the students will alternately do every activity and record the
time taken by their partner.
Now convert the recorded time (in seconds) taken into minutes or minutes and seconds.
Perform the activity with another pairs of students till the time permits.
