Objective: To understand rounding off money through real life situations.
materials required: Old newspaper, a pair of scissors, chart paper, glue stick.

Procedure:
Š Divide the students into groups of five.
Š Get students to read the old newspaper and to underline news items related to price

of different mobile phones.
Š Have the student cut out the news items related to mobiles with
their pictures from the newspaper. Collect 8 to 10 items per group. special special

Š Paste the cut outs of news items related to mobiles on the chart 10% price
paper. off `20000
Š Compare the prices and features related to different features of
mobiles with the group members.

Š Round off all the prices to the nearest tens and hundreds.
Š Based on the round-off prices, decide which mobile is cheapest and which one is costlier.
