                6. A rectangular cardboard sheet is 18 cm long and 9.8 cm broad. Find its perimeter.
                7. Find the perimeter of an equilateral triangle whose each side is 8.9 cm.

                8. The perimeter of a triangle is 24 cm and two of its sides measure 4.9 cm and 3.8 cm,
respectively. Find the length of the third side of the triangle.
                9. The perimeter of a rectangular garden is 196 m and its breadth is 32 m. Find its length.

               10. Find the perimeter of an isosceles triangle, each of whose equal sides measures 7.8 cm
and the length of the third side is 5.2 cm.
               11. Swastik walk four round around a square park each of whose sides measures 102 m.

How much distance does he walk?
               12. The total length of the fence around a square field is 308 m. Find the length of each
side of the square field. Also, find the cost of fencing rounded the field at the rate of
                    `28 per metre.

              AreA B

Area is the amount of surface that a plane-closed
figure covers. Look at the two posters shown A
alongside. Which poster is bigger? and why? SAve

It is clear that poster (B) is bigger because it is taking SAve eArth
up more space than poster (A). In other words, we treeS
can say that poster B has more area than poster A.
To measure the area of a closed figure, we count the squares with convenient the unit of
              area.

              Units of Area

Consider a square whose side is 1 cm. Its area would be the surface enclosed 1 cm
within its four sides. We say that its area is 1 square centimetre or 1 sq. cm. 1 cm 1 cm

Square centimetre or sq. cm is a unit of area. 1 cm
