Objective: To collect data and represent it in the form of a bar graph by paper
cutting and pasting.
Materials required: Coloured and white chart papers, sketch pens, pair of scissors, pencil
and glue
Procedure:
• Record the number of hours spent by each of your friends for watching TV.
Name of friends Number of hours spent on watching TV
• Take a white chart paper and draw a vertical line and a horizontal line as shown below.
Write the names of the friends along the horizontal line at equal distances and the time
spent in hours along the vertical lines by choosing a suitable scale as per your recorded data.

• Now, take different coloured chart paper and cut the bars of uniform width of different
colours for each friend of a length according to the time spent by him/her on watching TV.
• Paste the bars over the respective name of the friend.
Observation:
(a) What type of graph do you get? Name it.
(b) Number of friends who spent 2 to 3 hours on watching TV = ..............
(c) Names of friends who spent more than 6 hours on watching TV = ..............
(d) Names of friends who spent more than 4 hours on watching TV = ..............
