Multiples and Factors
Shally bought four types of decorative materials, each one is 12 in number. Consider the
arrangements of these materials and think about the corresponding multiplication fact.
1 × 12 = 12 2 × 6 = 12 3 × 4 = 12 4 × 3 = 12
Since, 1 × 12 = 12, so 1 and 12 are factors of 12. Also, 12 is a multiple of 1 and 12.
Similarly, 2 × 6 = 12, so 2 and 6 are factors of 12 as well as 12 is a multiple of 2 and 6.
And 3 × 4 = 12 or 4 × 3 = 12, so 3 and 4 are factors of 12 as well as 12 is a multiple of 3 and 4.
