            Example 3: Check whether the following numbers are multiples of 13.

            Solution: (a)  By using division, we get                   (b)  By using division, we get

                                 4                                              0

                            147 ÷ 13 = 11 R 4                               221 ÷ 13 = 17 R 0
                            Since, 147 is not exactly divisible             Since, 221 is exactly divisible by 13, so
                            by 13, so 147 is not a multiple of 13.          221 is a multiple of 13.
