                  8. Construct the figure given below. Choose measurements of your choice.

Note that the larger 4-sided figure is a square and so are the smaller ones.

                  9. Construct a rectangle in which one of the diagonals divides the opposite angles into 30° and 60°.
What do you observe about the sides?

                 10. Construct a rectangle one of whose sides is 3 cm and the diagonal is of length 6 cm.
                 11. Poornima has recently renovated her room, and the space for the window is currently empty.
                                                                                                                       Case study
She visited the market to explore different arched window shapes that she could install in her
room. She looked at all the windows given below:

                             A B C D
Answer the following questions based on the windows shown above.

                    (a) If the arch is to be drawn with a radius of 8 cm, then how would you use a compass to draw this
                        arch accurately?

                    (b) If she wants to create a copy of design C then, how would she draw it with a diameter of 10 cm
                        using a compass?

                    (c) Her mother suggested an arched window with a pattern of overlapping arcs shown in design D.
How would you create this pattern using the compass?
                    (d) Can you suggest her another arched design which is in your mind?
If yes, draw a copy in your notebook.

                       Brain Sizzlers
Kapil and Snehal are trying to create the following designs. Can you explain the steps that
                  they should follow?

                  1. 2.
