Role of Numbers in Our Life
We cannot imagine our lives without numbers. In our daily-life, we are closely connected to
numbers, and our lives cannot go on without numbers. We use numbers in various activities, like
counting, measuring length, weight and capacity, etc. For example,

Numbers make our lives simple and help us in every walk of life. Thus, numbers are standard
symbols that are used to represent quantities. You had learnt about the numbers in the previous

we use to represent numerals. For example, the numeral 256 is made up of three digits, i.e., ‘2’,
‘5’ and ‘6’.
Numbers can Tell us Many Things
We all know that December 22 is celebrated as National Mathematics Day in India to honor the
birth anniversary of the mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. For the celebration, students of a
school has prepared some activities to showcase their talents.
