                     numbers given alongside.
                                                                                                    1500 21000

                  4. Write your date of birth like an 8-digit number (DDMMYYYY). Rearrange the digits to make the
smallest and the largest number of 8 digits. Then find their sum and difference.

                  5. Write Yes or No to answer the following questions. Justify your response with proper reasoning.
                    (a) Is 5-digit number + 5-digit number = 10-digit number?

                    (b) Is 4-digit number – 1-digit number = 3-digit number?

                    (c) Is 3-digit number + 4-digit number = 5-digit number?
                    (d) Is 6-digit number – 4-digit number = 2-digit number?

                Estimation

Estimation is a common word, and though we may not fully
understand its meaning, we use the estimation in our daily life.
Suppose your mother wants to measure the height of your younger
brother/sister using a scale, and the height comes out to be 1 foot
10 inches and she says your younger brother/sister is 2 feet tall.
What is she doing? She is basically approximating the height.

An estimation is an approximate calculation or rounding of the
number to the nearest place value making the calculation easy.
It helps us to check the accuracy of the results obtained. It also
helps when a certain margin of error is allowed in a calculation.

                For example:

                 (a) Nilabh walks to his school in about 10 minutes. (Estimating Time)
                 (b) The concert was attended by around 1000 people. (Estimating Quantity)

                  (c) The distance between Delhi to Mumbai is 1500 km. (Estimating Distance)
                 (d) The height of the giraffe is 2 m. (Estimating Height)

                  (e) 2500 children study in my school. (Estimating Population)

                                                                   95 Number Play
