Objective: To verify the properties of parallel lines when cut by a transversal by
paper folding.
Materials Required: Paper and pen, A4 paper sheet, a pencil, a protractor
Procedure:

• Take a A4 sheet and fold it as to get a pair of parallel
lines and unfold it.

• Now, fold the paper sheet across so that a transversal
is obtained.

• Press the edges of folded paper and unfold it.

• Outline the creases formed by using pencil to draw the
diagram formed with creases. As shown here.

• Write the names of the parallel lines and transversal
formed.

• By using a protractor, measure the different pairs of angles and verify the properties of
