              3. Find five equivalent ratios of the following:
                 ( a) 4 : 9 (b) 11 : 17 (c) 8 : 13 (d) 6 : 11
              4. Write the missing term in the following grid.
                  Antecedent (a) 21 6 9

              5. Which is greater?
                 ( a) 9 : 8 or 7 : 3 (b) 7 : 10 or 4 : 7 (c) 2.5 : 3 or 1.5 : 4 (d) 11 : 13 or 14 : 17
              6. In a school there are 485 boys and 615 girls. Find the ratio of:

( a) the number of girls to the number of boys.
( b) the number of boys to the number of girls.
( c) the number of boys to the total number of students
( d) the number of girls to the total number of students.
              7. Out of the 56 teachers teaching in a school 28 are males and the remaining are females. Find the
                 ratio of the number of:
( a) males to that of females (b) males to the total number of teachers
( c) teachers to that of females.

              8. Find the ratio of the length of a field to its width if the dimensions of the field are 172 m by 84 m
              9. Divide `3196 between two persons in the ratio 3 : 5. How much does each receive?
             10. Divide `7712 between A, B and C in the ratio 2 : 5 : 9.
             11. The angles of a triangle are in the ratio 3 : 4 : 11. Find the measure of each angle of a triangle.

             12. The ratio in the simplest form is 12 : 17. If its antecedent is 108, find its consequent.
             13. The ratio in the simplest form is 9 : 13. If its consequent is 169, find its antecedent.
             14. A painter mixes red and blue colour to make purple in the ratio of 5 : 4 respectively. If he has 15 L
of red colour paint, how much blue colour is required to make the purple colour?

Suppose the cost of 3 kg of apples is `360, and that of 5 kg of apples is `600.

Can you identify the relation between the quantity of apples and their cost?
Here, the ratio of the quantity of apples is 3 : 5, and the ratio of their cost is
            360 : 600 which simplifies to 3 : 5 in its simplest form.
