Learning by Doing
Objective: Reinforce the concept of ratio.
Materials Required: Pen, poster colours, brushes and
paper
Procedure:
• Take only the primary colours – red, yellow, and
blue.
• Try to mix these colours in different ratios and see
the colours formed from these colours by changing
the ratio.
• Note down the ratio of colours used and the colour
formed after it.
• Match with your friends and see the different shades made by them.
Observation:
• If we mix yellow and blue colours in the ratio of 3 : 2, we get green colour.
• If we mix red and yellow colours in the ratio of 2 : 3, we get orange colour.
Now, take 6 pints of yellow colour and 4 pints of blue colour and mix them. Do you get the
same green colour? If yes, then give the reason. What concept is shown here?
