                Converting Fractions into Percentages

To convert a fraction into a percentage, multiply the given fraction by 100 and put the symbol ‘%’.

Example 1: Convert each of the following fractions into percentages.

                         34 3 8 5 1

coloured bangles. What is the percentage of each type of bangle?
                Solution: We have,
Number of golden bangles = 20 Think and Answer
Number of silver bangles = 10

                Therefore, the percentage of golden bangles = × 100 = 66 66.%

                                                          10 money that he saved?
                and the percentage of silver bangles = × 100 = 33 33.%
