Objective: To understand the concept of nets of different 3D solid objects.
Materials Required: Different cardboard boxes or objects of different shapes, like toothpaste
box, gift box, a birthday cap, an empty pringles box, a ruler, a pencil, paper cutter and some
A-4 sheets.
Procedure:
• Take any one of the given cardboard boxes (let us take a
toothpaste box first) at a time.
• Open it from the edges carefully by using the paper cutter
under the guidance of your teacher or parents step by
step to see the formation.
• Get the net of this open box.
• How many rectangles are there in the net of the
toothpaste box?
• Repeat the same process for the rest of the given boxes to get their nets. Also, note down
the number of different faces in the table below.
