Objective: Understand the concept of the circumference of a circle.
Materials Required: Cardboard, a scissor, a marker, a ruler
Procedure:
• Make cutouts of circular shapes of different radii from the cardboard.
• Take a cutout and mark a point on the edge of the cutout.
• Place the card on a table with the marked point of the card touching the table. Mark the
position of the point on the table.
• Roll the circular card on the table along a straight line till the marked point of the card
again touches the table.
• Measure the distance between the points along a line by a ruler. This distance is the
circumference of the circular card.
Circumference
• Similarly find the circumference of other circular cards.
